Owner's Description

WB-101. There has not been much to say about this date in the literature except to note how rare it is. With only 14,000 total strikes there is almost no variation to distinguish survivors. This coin is a prime example with no marks, blemishes or die cracks marring its surfaces. Rated R-5+ in mint state by both Blythe and Fortin (and actually rarer, R-6-, in circulated grades) , it is a semi-key to the series. The current coin was bought at an ANR auction in December, 2003, lot 618. And while there are no individual characteristics to comment on, suffice it to say the coin's even, natural toning give it strong eye appeal. Pop 2 at PCGS with none graded finer. True when the coin was bought in 2003, and still true today.
