Owner's Description

F-111, but it must be a very early die state, as there are no obvious die cracks called for in this variety. Only a hint of one down from star-1 towards the date, and another very lightly connects the bases of the 8 and 5 in the date. One of three MS-67's slabbed by NGC, while a solitary MS-66 leads the pack at PCGS. Unusual as the obverse of the coin is colorfully toned, while the reverse is a silvery white. The strike is only average. The details of Liberty's figure and foot are not sharp, although the stars do show their radials. Overall eye appeal is strong. Bought from a Heritage auction, January, 2003, lot 6399.
