Owner's Description
Only one die pair known for the year, and this coin is the only MS-65 slabbed at either service. R-7 in mint state, and the pops bear this out with only seven coins graded MS-62 or better (three MS-64's are next highest). The strike is decent although the obverse die is heavily rusted. There are two marks on Liberty's head otherwise no distractions on the obverse to report. The reverse seems perfect. On its own perhaps meriting a higher grade. Even natural toning gives the coin good eye appeal. Bought from a Heritage auction, March, 1999, lot 6312.
