Owner's Description

F-110. From the position of the date and the presence of die cracks on the reverse. In his description of the variety Fortin maps out six major die cracks on the reverse. Two of these are present on this coin. Most noticeably one between the A T in STATES to the wreath. And a second one from the dentils to the end of the left ribbon. There is a very sketchy suggestion of a third one from the tip of the F in OF to the wreath. The others are not present. In contrast to the prior listed colorful 1841, this coin in its simplistic way is truly beautiful. A sharp strike, unblemished even toning, the coin is gorgeous. Tied with one other at the top of PCGS's condtion chart, it is bettered by only one graded MS-67 by NGC. Bought from Heritage's sale of the "Simpson" collection, September, 2010, lot 3624.
