Owner's Description

F-110, from the position of the date and small O. But the diagnostics are not consistent with Gerry Forin's description of F-110s. Star 8 does not appear to be re-cut (in fact none of the stars show evidence of re-cutting), and on the reverse the O in ONE is fully struck. The dies are perfect and the strike strong throughout. A pristine coin with gorgeous natural toning, a great rarity in this condition. Pop 1 at both services, and supported by only a single coin graded MS-64. Bought from the Heritage auction of the Joseph C. Thomas collection, April, 2009, lot 2251.
