Owner's Description

F-101. A fairly easy identification as almost all the other varieties of the date have significant die cracks scattereed on the obverse and reverse, and this coin has none. Not even the small, very light die crack the F-101 variety calls for between the R in AMERICA and the wreath. But in all other ways the coin matches up wth the description of F-101, most notably the heavily worn dies shown on the reverse by the weakly struck letters ICA. Not a rare date at all (only R-3), in fact the coin is almost common in gem with NGC having graded nine MS-68s and eleven MS-67s, while PCGS shows two MS-68s to go with seven MS-67s. Bought from a Heritage auction, July, 2003, lot 6541.
