Owner's Description

This '52-D is another "Blast White" coin which are extreamly scarce. The vast majority of all gem Franklins came from mint sets and the toning is usually a very drab "gray-brown" color. Coins with color or in this case, a Brilliant white coin are very rare indeed. The mintage for this year was a very large number coming in at 25,395,600 coins. During the silver melts of the 80's and the ones from 2008-2010 have cut these numbers to about 6-8% of that number making any gem with "full bell lines" a coin with very few brothers and sisters.
