Owner's Description

This particular date is one of the more "high mintage" issues which means little as to the total population. 21,192,093 coins were struck at the Philadelphia facility in 1952. In addition this date & mint is the least valued coin in full bell lines for the coins struck between 1948 & 1955.

Then again when you are talking Franklins at this top of the grade spectrum, "least expensive" is relative. This is "one" of a mere 68 coins that grade MS-66-FBL with a mere two coins grading a single point higher. Thare have been "no coins" that grade MS-68 in the entire Franklin series in either FBL or not.

This coin has some beautiful "mint set toning" showing on the obverse which includes a "burnt orange" prifery with additional shades of "blues" "greens" & "pinks". The reverse has even more of these same colors with some purple splotches at 9 O'clock thrown in for good measure. This coin was an eBay win on July 3rd 2010 that I feel I "stole" for less than $150 including the S&H. One of the few FBL 66's I own and a coin that I am very lucky to have aquired for the price indicated.
