Owner's Description

Mintage: 119 Million
Full Step Availability: 6.6%
Population MS67 5FS: 19/0
Date/mm Availability: High grade eye appealing examples are easily obtainable but full steps is more scarce than most of the war nickel dates.

Coin Description:
Shimmering iridescent streaks of tangerine, yellow, lime green, and strawberry pink patina blanket the obverse of this spectacular full step Jefferson. The only significant distraction on the coin is the mark on Jefferson's collar. An excellent strike, captivating luster, and wildly eye appealing; a better example of this date may be impossible to find with a population of 19/0.

Comments:
This is another coin that would not look at all out of place resting in a holder with a star designation. The color is incredibly attractive and wholly original. This coin was purchased in the 2009 February Long Beach Sale for under $2,000. I remember watching the lot on Heritage Live and the auctioneer stated that "someone just got great price on that coin" after the lot closed. This exact same coin sold in the 2005 Central States Sale for $3,700. This coin is one of my favorites in the collection and is a permanent resident.
