Mintage: 3.5 Million<br />Full Step Availability: 10%<br />Population MS67: 12/0 PCGS Only<br />Date/mm Information: With 75% of the mintage having a reverse of 40, the mintage is 2.6 million.<br /><br />Coin Description:<br />A striking coin with incredible luster and superb surfaces under a dove grey and champagne rose iridescence. I have dubbed this coin "THE AVATAR" and use the obverse as my avatar on several numismatic forums. The obverse embodies everything that a Jefferson Nickel should be: booming luster, near flawless surfaces, no remnant planchet flaws, and fully struck details. If the reverse had full steps, it would fall into the same category.<br /><br />Comments:<br />It is essential to have and outstanding representative of the key date to the series in a high ranking registry set. This coin has a powerful appearance and does not take a back seat to any of the toned coins in this set. I purchased this nickel in the 2009 February Long Beach Sale by Heritage for a very reasonable price.
