Owner's Description

This date is a bit of a sleeper. Doug Winter puts it on his "most undervalued list" of New Orleans Eagles.

Original (of course) with nice cartwheel luster on both sides. Reverse is gem. Coloration of deep orange gold.

Census for MS63: PCGS 9/1 NGC 7/2.

Coin is in an old, green PCGS holder. Probably fourth finest known.

From the Pinnacle Collection and plated on Page 196 in the Winter book on New Orleans gold coinage.
