Owner's Description

Central States, May 2007---------------------------1937-S 50C Texas MS68 NGC. In addition to his work on the Texas commemorative half dollar, Pompeo Coppini received several other commissions related to the centennial of Texas independence, including a series of bronze statues for the Texas Hall of State and a San Antonio monument to those who died at the Alamo. Soft, pleasing luster shines beneath the light gold-orange and silver-gray patina that covers this later-date Texas half, from an issue of just 6,637 pieces. One of just five representatives certified as MS68 by NGC, with none so graded at PCGS and none finer at either service (4/07).
From The Cary & Cheryl Porter Collection.
