Owner's Description

1879-CC GSA $1 NGC MS-64 Normal MM 44 in MS-64: 44 (Only 3 in MS-65, none higher)*

*NGC has also graded the follow quantities of PL examples: MS-63: 11, MS-64: 2; and the following quantities of the VAM 3 (capped die) variety: MS-63: 23, MS-64: 11, MS-65: 1 (No PLs in any grade).

A dazzling PQ coin with three small nicks (two on the obverse, one on the reverse) away from the MS-65 grade, and a really big price jump. The surfaces are snow-white and the luster is as vibrant as the day the coin left the Carson Mint. A very sharp strike with all the hair detail over Liberty’s ear visible. It’s got to be one of the nicest MS-64 examples graded thus far by NGC. I bought this coin (and many others) from Carson City guru, Rusty Goe who said this was the nicest 1879 CC MS 64 Morgan he had ever seen. With original box and certificate.
