Owner's Description

1878-CC GSA $1 NGC MS-64, 331 in MS 64 (42 in MS-65, none higher).<br />NGC has also graded the following quantities of PL examples: MS-64: 34, MS-65: 5, MS-66: 1, and in DPL: MS-64: 1. (All population totals, as of 5-1-08)<br /><br />Totally white surfaces with crisp and sharp details. Light contact marks cover several areas in the left half of the obverse and a few thin lines are visible in the right half. The reverse is essentially mark-free, with only a few minor marks barely visible. Small tan-colored oxidation spots are visible on certain locations on the reverse, with one noticeable spot near Star 6 on the obverse. These could have been caused by traces of a foreign substance dropped on the coin (they do not detract in the least). With original box and certificate.
