Owner's Description

PR65 (now resides in a PCGS PR64 Cameo slab)

A $2350 purchase from Mark Feld in 2005.

************************************
1892 BARBER HALF DOLLAR
************************************

Mintage:
Circulation strikes: 934,000
Proofs: 1,245

Designer: Charles E. Barber

Diameter: ±30.6 millimeters

Metal content:
Silver - 90%
Copper - 10%

Weight: ±12.5 grams

Edge: Reeded

Mintmark: None (for Philadelphia) just below the eagle's tail on the reverse

Here is a coin which has the potential to please (or displease) both those who prefer white coins, as well as those who pursue originally toned examples. The obverse is extremely brilliant and color-free, save for a hint of patina at the outer border. The reverse, on the other hand, is a deep, fairly uniform bluish-purple hue. I happen to like both looks. This (dual) type of appearance can result from storage in an old time coin cabinet over a period of many years.

http://boards.collectors-society.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1362028&an=0&page=0#Post1362028

Again, compliments of Mark Feld at an extremely reasonable price.
