Owner's Description

It has been awhile since I have been able to add a coin to this set. This is not due to any financial limitations per se, but to the fact that having set my sights on coins with a certain eye-appeal has made locating the final four coins a real challenge. I am happy to present my latest acquisition from Teletrade Auctions – A very nicely toned 1942 Walker.
On first look this coin exhibits predominately rose/gold toning, though under closer examination one detects even more eye-appealing colors. The most noticeable of the rose/gold color scheme on the Observe is around the rims, but there is also a light blue patina in the fields that gives the coin an extremely pleasing overall look. The Reverse reveals stronger levels of the rose/gold coloration, but includes a hint of a green hue evenly distributed across the surface.
The strike is solid, though a touch flat around Lady Liberty’s hand, as one would expect from a Philadelphia Mint issue in the latter years of the Walker series. The Reverse strike is better with very well defined feather detail on the Eagle’s left leg. Extremely light contact marks are present, but outside of the main focal points of the coin. This is a strictly graded MS-65 by PCGS.
