Owner's Description

The final entry in my Walker collection is a very nice 1943-S. This coin has been a real challenge to acquire given my desire for some unique level of color. I was fortunate to locate and purchase this coin on EBay. Though I had to focus on MS-64 coins to fill this slot, I think this is an excellent example and a wonderful addition to my collection.<br /><br />The coin has an average strike for an S-Mint coin late in the Walker series being slightly flat across the central devices on the Obverse and in the Eagle’s leg feather detail of the Reverse. Additionally, contact is non-existent in any of the primary or secondary focal areas of the coin’s surface. The color is subtle but very nice with an appealing ring of scattered rose/gold around the rim. The rim color is contrasted by a steel-blue throughout the central aspects of both Obverse and Reverse. Considering all these aspects this is the correct grade for this semi-key of the Walker short set.
