Owner's Description

The note selected to represent the Banco Colombiano, Guatemala is an example of the 1 peso issue dated 17th April 1900. There are also earlier dates for the 1$ of 17th October 1879 and 5th April 1900 however, so far, I have not yet seen one. There are also specimens reported (a single example in the PMG Population report) and cancelled notes for S/N 59999 to 184998. The left of the note is an armoured allegorical figure (sometimes called a man and sometimes a woman) holding a shield and spear with a liberty cap atop. The oxen and cart scene at the top is flanked by the coats-of-arms from Guatemala and Colombia in reference to the founders of the bank and their current business operations.
