A quintuplet of the 1939 1 livre, pick 26, printed in London during WWII and marked with different geometric shapes to allow authorities to cancel them if the enemy got hold of the notes. The banknotes are dated 1 September 1939, the day Germany invaded Poland. They were put in circulation (with overprints) in 1942 and 1943. Front: Roman temple of Jupiter in Baalbeck, in the Beqaa valley in Lebanon. Back: view of Beirut framed with columns and horses.
