Set Description
First "Adult Money" attempt at putting a complete date set together. I am fairly new to collecting and after having a terrible go-round with modern coins, my interest finally drifted to a time when the mintages were reasonable, sane.
I got interested in Longacre design, the Shield Nickels in particular, because it seemed like a set that few were interested in collecting. I am contrarian in that regard, but the limited amount of years the coin was minted, the affordablity in today's market, and largely available (even some of the semi-keys) set of good coins still out there, convinced me this was a good place to cut my teeth with the classic years. We'll just call my foray into modern coins as the price of entry.
The goal with this set is to get all the circulating dates in AU58: top of the line coins of the "working class" grades.
The 79, 80, 81 will be tricky on my budget, but otherwise, I'm well on my way!
