1860-S Liberty Double Eagle, AU58
Challenging Type One Issue in High Grade
1860-S $20 AU58 NGC. The 1860-S is one of the scarcer Type One S-mint twenties and is quite challenging in grades that approach Mint State. This piece retains almost complete mint luster with only slight evidence of rub over the highpoints. The surfaces are generally quite smooth, the only exception being an ill-placed milling mark to the right of Liberty's upper lip. NGC has only certified 21 numerically finer examples (8/13).
