Owner's Description

Lyman Allen #3.03 (KM #179) - Mintage: 6,500,000

The only denomination struck in 1939 at the Manila mint was the one centavo, and this coin is very typical. The vast majority of Commonwealth obverse Centavos minted in Manila are very weakly struck. Surprisingly though, red high mint state pieces like this one are relatively common. In spite of the weak strike, this coin has great luster and eye appeal worthy of the grade.

Varieties: None cataloged for this year.

Date acquired: 10/21/2007 (already graded by NGC)
