Owner's Description
Lyman Allen #2.17 (KM #163) - Mintage: 4,540,000
The 1919 S is fairly common, however high grade examples are difficult to obtain and red and red-brown examples are virtually nonexistent. As of this revision, NGC has only graded 25 coins, of which 21 are brown with only 2 red-brown and 2 full red.
This particular example displays a weak strike on the left side of the shield on the obverse which is typical of this issue. The strike on the reverse is worse than normal and shows no definition in the fingers on the right hand.
Varieties: None cataloged for this date.
Date acquired: 9/1/2008 (already graded by NGC)
Rev. 11/04/2012
