Owner's Description
Frank Miller story & cover.
Frank Miller & Klaus Janson art.
Publ. date: April 1982.
Key issue containing the death of Elektra.
Bullseye & Kingpin appearance.
Frank Millers storytelling abilities reaches new heights with this issue, making it one of the best superhero comics ever.
Warning: spoilers ahead !!!
The story is told from Bullseyes perspektive only, which makes it much more scary and dangerous than we where custom to at the time. The highlights in this double issue are many: the first meeting ever between Frank Castle / the Punisher and Bullseye. Bulleyes dramatic prison escape, the fight scene between Elektra and Bulleye including the iconic climax, Elektra dying in the arms of Matt Murdock, Daredevil and Bullseyes final battle and the end scene with Bulleye in a hospital bed all wrapped in bandages and thinking of nothing but revenge.
As all psychopath criminals Bullseye learns nothing from his failures and he pays for this by being hospitalized indefinitely. However he have achieved one thing: by killing Elektra he have taken away Daredevils first young lost love forever and thereby, you could say, he have won ultimately.
By making this ending, Frank Miller off-romanticize the very concept of the superhero genre, stating that the hero and the normal people always will be the ones that will loose the most in the battle for justice.
Enjoy your comics:)
