Owner's Description

A watershed issue. With a cover date of 01/59 this issue is the first to depict a female on the cover of a DC big five war comic. It may have proved popular when sales figures came in as later that year the Mille Marie series started in DC's "Star Spangled War Stories" #84 with a cover date of 08/59. Most likely the female heroine was moved over to SSWS as by August 1959 we are already into the beginnings of the Sgt Rock run in OAAW.
