Owner's Description

x2 signed by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting. Big thanks goes out to Will Wong and Kris Moore for helping me to be able to get this one done.

The issue begins with the Red Skull extremely upset with Dr. Faustus and Bucky in SHIELD custody.

As the scientists exam Bucky's detatched cybernetic arm, it gets up (a la Evil Dead II) ko's the people in the room and runs off.

So of course, Iron Man armors up to contain Bucky, and we have the long awaited confrontation between the two. I won't spoil the fight, but it's very well written and executed to say the least.

After their minds meet, Bucky reads Steve Rogers' last wishes. Just as Bucky reveals to Stark that Lukin and The Red Skull are one in the same, we learn of breaking news that Lukin was tragically "killed" in a plane crash!

Thus the under the circumstances, the question is posed, Will Bucky become the new Captain America?

Of course if you're reading this you probably know the answer. Bucky agrees on two stipulations: for his mind to be protected and cleared of any influences, and that he does not answer to Tony Stark or anyone else, which Tony stark thinks about for a panel *grin* and says that he can live with that.

Personal Note:

Is it just me, or does this issue actually feel a bit thicker than normal? I really loved the cover to this issue, like all the other covers in this series. The way everything unfolded in the issue, and it's truly amazing how good the book is *still* without Steve Rogers, but now we're getting a new Cap!
