Owner's Description
x2 signed by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting. Big thanks goes out to Will Wong and Kris Moore for helping me to be able to get this one done. This is just another fantastic cover in the series.
The issue starts with revealing the extent of the damage of Sin and the Serpent crew (consisting of King Cobra, The Eel and The Viper) in their prison break of Crossbones.
The Black Widow hunts for Bucky/The Winter Soldier at the behest of Tony Stark. And we also get a small peek into the mindscape of Lukin/Red Skull.
An interesting note in this issue is when we see The Falcon and Sharon Carter trying to get some info from an AIM cell. Aside from seeing the mental damage of Sharon's mind (whic almost gets her killed), is that The Falcon's costume is burned off. (I recall hearing in an interview on Word Balloon with Ed Brubaker that in Cap #25, Steve Epting liked drawing the previous Falcon costume that he asked Ed Brubaker to find a way to get him to draw it again, and this event is what brings that request to frution in the following issue as a result.)
After the battle, the Black Widow sees Falcon and Sharon leaving...
The issue ends with Bucky confronting Lukin and accusing him of working with The Red Skull, only to have him reply, " . . . you have no idea what you're doing," and then to be greeted by CrossBones and Sin!
The last lines of the issue:
Lukin/Skull: "Do you see now?"
Bucky: "AW, $#*A"
As always, Brubaker knows how to end an issue with a killer cliffhanger.
Also pictured is my reading copy signed by creative team of Ed Brubaker, Steve Epting and Mike Perkins.
