PERSONAL COMMENTS:

Another eBay purchase and one of a group I got from one specific go to seller which I have become accustomed to getting CGC 9.8's from. His business has probably seen my fair share of Daddy Fun Account money.

This was another of Jim Cheung's covers from this set and I thoroughly enjoy how the Phoenix on this cover, rips Captain America apart and Boom... goes Cyclops head. Also Wolverine's on this one in the corner but when is he not on a Marvel comic??? Doesn't really piece together what actually happens in the comic but, when does it ever.

PERSONAL FAVORITE LINE:
You’re ready Tony. Or at least as ready as anyone can be to pilot a… whatever this is… without testing it first – Hank Pym

Testing is for suckers. We’re men of science Pym. Time to act like it. – Tony Stark

NOW FOR THE BORING STUFF
Published: August 2012

KEY ISSUE: The first appearance of the Jackson Five… I mean the Phoenix Five. Yep the awesomely awesome powered up X-Men.

Matt Fraction story
John Romita Jr. Pencil’s
Scott Hanna Ink’s

Jim Cheung Cover

Wow… So compared to the rest of the series I think this is the point where Marvel may have over reached with the length of time in telling this story. I think the total of 7 to 8 months of one storyline were just to long in the grand scheme of things and here is a look at how everything kinda had a drop off point. At least with the next two series to follow they cut down the length significantly.

As for a run of the numbers. There are a total of 21 Graded….. Yep, only 21 total, of those 1 OAK is a 9.9 and the other 20 are 9.8’s. Not a single SS in the bunch. So yeah gotta get on that one for me now.

Story Title: Avengers vs. X-Men (Part Five) – Original title right...

MY TYPE OF SUMMARY:

Ok so following number 4 were on the Moon waiting for the big bird in the sky to approach with the Avengers and X-Men apparently not requiring oxygen. Cause that’s not vital or anything. Anyways everyone’s yelling and running and the fight for Hope is on.

Somewhere in the middle of this thing everyone seems to pass up on Hope and start fighting. Hope realizes she doesn’t want to be one with the big fiery bird and asks Wolverine to stab her instead… Yeah somehow no one sees how there could be a problem with that. Anyways Tony Stark and Hank Pym built Voltron and decide its time to attack the big fiery bird that destroys everything in front of it. Cause a planet sitting in front of it can’t destroy it but Voltron can.

Anyways that didn’t work so well at all. Tony goes all Street Fighter Haduken on it and seemingly destroys the Phoniex. That lasts about until everyone opens there eyes and I think the perfect thing to say here would be “$H!T, that didn’t work.”

Enter the Phoenix Five. So the X-Men are now supped up. Cap says he’s not impressed and I think he may have changed his mind after they decided to blow the Avengers up and then head back to Earth with a knocked out Hope in there arms.
