Thorn’s dream about the night her parents are killed fills in a few holes from the narrative but it’s still not complete. When Thorn wakes up, she finds herself in a dungeon with Fone with both having lost a tooth in their fight with Tarsil’s soldiers. Meanwhile, Gran’ma Ben watches from the ramparts while Briar and the rat creatures surround the city. Lord Tarsil won’t surrender and is promptly cut in half by Briar. Ben immediately takes over as the rat creatures attempt to storm the walls.
The cover features the only enhancement from the series with “Bone” in red foil. There is no Bone-a-fides section at the end of the book.
