1st Hellboy in his own title. Origin of Monkeyman & O'Brien in backup story by Art Adams. Mini-series galore in this set, but some nice additions to be had, and that is the name of the game! I traded Invincible Iron Man #9, a raw, to the Local Comic Shop Awesome Comics for this raw, which only cost me $2. Plus $14 because the LCS thought this was a nice-looking copy and the cost to grade, so all in at $48! That is some nice dealing, but the trade might have benefited the comic shop at the time. Glad to have the Hellboy get his official title, and as I'm not too much for horror, so to speak, the movies did a good job of bridging the gap that made heroes out of "immortals!" That in itself was probably the right time and right place kind of thing. Still, they made an impression not soon forgot. Those were more impressionable days with not a lot of distractions.
Complete with a back cover picture of the poster I got from Local Comic Shop Kieth's Comics that was a giveaway type of thing that I happen to be there at the time to receive. Showing a similar, in type, to this issue mini-series, even with a similar type of art. I guess you could say Hellboy during this time had a its regular contributors!
