Zoot #14 is referenced in Fredric Wertham’s “Seduction of the Innocent” (SOTI) in the text on page 104.
On page 104, Wertham describes a story as follows “In many comic books dark-skinned people are depicted in rapelike situations with white girls. One picture, showing a girl nailed by her wrists to trees with blood flowing from the wounds, might be taken straight from an illustrated edition of the Marquis de Sade”.
The picture of “a girl nailed by her wrists” comes from a panel in the Rulah Jungle Goddess story “Condemned” contained in Zoot Comics #14 published in March 1948.
