Brief Description:
Archangel takes Charlotte Jones to the One World Harmony concert in Central Park, where thousands of civilians are waiting for Lila Cheney to perform. Rogue and Bishop are keeping an eye on the crowd and discuss events, unaware that under the stage, Cable seemingly murders two members of the Friends of Humanity setting a bomb to kill Professor Xavier who is due to make a speech during the concert - and Cable boasts that it will be he who kills Xavier. In Salem Center, Cyclops and Jean Grey are at Harry’s Hideaway when Jean detects Cyclops thinking about Psylocke. At a grocery store, Iceman tells Colossus that Opal wants a break to think things through, and attempts to build a friendship with Colossus by telling him that he is here to talk about Mikhail’s suicide if he wants. At Central Park, Lila performs, while Storm and Gambit discuss Storm’s break up with Forge, and Gambit’s relationship with Belladonna. Storm is unsure about her friendship with Gambit, but dances with him anyway. Multiple Man, Quicksilver and Strong Guy are watching the concert from a hotel room in Manhattan, Strong Guy excited to see his old friend Lila perform. Cyclops explains to Jean that he does love her and Jean reveals that she is afraid something will come between them again - which is when Caliban attacks them. Lila welcomes Xavier onto the stage, which divides the audience. Colossus and Iceman see people running from Harry’s Hideaway, and assume their teammates are in trouble. But before they can come to Cyclops and Jean’s aid, they are attacked by War and Famine. The Professor makes his speech, attempting to bridge peace between all people, but much of the audience is not interested and shout hateful things at him - when he is suddenly shot by Cable. Caliban is angry at Cyclops and Jean and points out that during their time together in X-Factor they never asked him his real name, before Harry’s collapses on them. War and Famine are taken down by Colossus and Iceman, before teleporting away. Iceman and Colossus realize that Cyclops and Jean have been taken also. Archangel attacks Cable, while Lila, Storm and Bishop tend to Xavier. X-Force begin watching the concert on television, but the concert has been replaced by a report from Trish Tilby, announcing that Professor Xavier may or may not have survived an assassination attempt by the man known as Cable!
