1:1 ratio cover by Billy Tan. While it is a fabulous pin-up, I don't really thing of Red Sonja as a pin-up character, so when she's portrayed like this - it rubs me wrong. So, as cool as the coloring and the composition of the partially obscured sun behind Sonja's head, it really wasn't anything I was interested in when it came out. I can understand this being a favorite cover for many collectors who like a good girl art - but it very much was not the issue I bought from my LCS when it came out. I selected the Camuncoli and the Camuncoli red foil incentive cover for my collection, and I have the red foil cover signed and graded by brand x.
Overall? Cool use of color and composition - but it doesn't work for me personally.
