2023 Update:
This is my Metal Men Holy Grail and most expensive issue. It was 1 of 3 CGC 9.6s with White pages, but I see there are now 10 9.6s in the census, so hard to say. I own the only Pacific Coast Pedigree 9.4 WP. I believe this copy should grade a 9.6. My CGC collection began with a 9.0 MM 1 in 2006 This was my first CGC Registry Set entry in
2011...the rest is history!!
Synopsis: MM 1 Begins with a Metal Men Family picture with Dr. Will Magnus, their creator. Then, as usual, Tina (Platinum) goes berserk and is thrown into a science museum as punishment. Will takes the boys out for a flight on his UFO looking ship and sees Missiles raining down on a gas storage tank. Four of the Metal Men are melted trying to put out the fire, with only Mercury still alive. Dr. Magnus remakes Gold, Iron, Lead and Tin in his lab. Peppered in the story are ads for a Tootsie Roll rocket and Missile Attack toy (makes sense). Also is an interesting page on Metal "Facts and Fancies". So...Tina is released from the museum...they find a fragment of the missiles showing they are robots. In outer space, we find an uncontrollable robot named Z-1 is wreaking havoc. He wants to build a queen to rule with himl, but only succeeds in building endless duplicates. Z-1 searches the galaxy for his queen and sees Platinum (Tina) on earth. Wow...what a powerful telescope. He sends his missile men to earth and starts destroying ever major landmark and wonder of the world. The Metal Men valiantly battle the missile men to no avail. Dr. Magnus shoots a Magnetizing Ray at them which gathers the missie men into a giant ball and drops them into the ocean. The Metal Men then monitor the giant missile men ball periodically. The story had 4 parts. Also a really cool mailbag section called "Metal Scraps" in the middle of MM 1. People loved the educational aspect of MM 1 in their responses.

I also own an original Metal Men #1 cover re-creation by Mike Esposito and Ross Andru, which is a 22" x 15" watercolor in exact detail. Mike Esposito did commissions in his later years, and this one is signed by both artists but undated. I had this artwork professionally framed, and it is the centerpiece for my comic collection. Nuff Said!!
