First appearance of the Space Phantom. Hulk leaves the Avengers .Fantastic Four, X-Men and Spider-Man appearance. I purchased it at auction from a hospice in the U.K. In August 2023 , and had it slabbed by CGC in November 2023. This was not apparent from the auction scan but when I received the comic in the post, bagged and boarded, I noticed a pin hole in each corner of the book. I assume that at some point it had been pinned to a wall or a display board, and perhaps offered for sale. If so, then you would have thought that a dealer would have known better and made sure that the pins only went through the backing board and did not cause any damage to the comic itself. I believe this did not affect the grade assigned to the book by CGC. My copy is 1 of 33 Universal copies as at 23 June 2024

First appearance of Baron Zemo and his Masters of Evil. Paste Pot Pete cameo. Story reprinted in Avengers Annual issue number #4 (1971). I think the cover is outstanding, including its composition. It depicts all the characters who appear in the story and shows the Avengers from the back, facing the attack of Zemo and the Masters of Evil, who face towards the reader. I purchased it at a regular comic book convention in London in June 2023. Although it has a price stamp on the front cover, which would usually put me off, as the stamp is a pence one (which itself is quite odd, given that this is a pence printed price edition and the price does not need to be converted) I think it is kind of quirky and adds an extra dimension to the comic. I had it pressed by CGC when they slabbed it in November 2023 as it was quite creased on the back cover. This was my first experience of pressing and it was worth it as the appearance of the book has been much improved and pressing does not amount to restoration.
I would say it was a vg when I bought it.
