Betts-608. Silver. This medal was struck to commemorate the Treaty of Versailles which was signed on September 3, 1783 and ended the Revolutionary War. This medal is the French Libertas Americana medal. The obverse depicts Louis XVI pointing to a shield with America's 13 bars hung by Liberty on a pillar. The reverse shows Athena holding a spear growing into an olive tree and a ribbon linking the Arms of France, Britain, Spain, and Holland. Dies by Oexlein
