Owner Comments:

Medals were presented as favors at the Congressional Club Annual Breakfast on Thursday, April 27, 1972 which honored First Lady Pat Nixon. The Congressional Club commissioned and paid for the striking of limited edition proof, 40% silver, White House medals to launch the mint’s new miniature White House medal, part of the bronze Presidential medal series. Contemporary newspaper accounts note that 1000 were presented to the ladies attending the breakfast. This medal was packaged in a Presidential miniatures plastic display case used for the early small Presidential bronze medals with a red white and blue box depicting the Department of the Treasury seal. A hand written note inside the box states 1400 were made. This medal is not listed in any current reference on mint medals and is the only one currently graded. 34mm
