1865 Three Cent Nickel in Nickel
Judd-410, Pollock-481,
Rarity: Low R.6, PR66 CAC Endorsed

Ex: Denali Collection.

Struck in copper with a plain edge.

Obverse: Similar in design to the issued three cent nickel except the date is centered higher

Reverse: Similar in design to the issued three cent nickel but the ribbon ends extend to the denticles, giving the reverse a crowded appearance.

Comment:
USPatterns.com states "about a dozen known," though twice that number may survive. This high grade representative is fully struck and provides pleasing reflectivity. Variegated chestnut-gold and pearl-gray toning further increases the eye appeal.
