Betts-403 Brass.This medal commemorates the capture of Fortress Louisbourg gave control of the St. Lawrence River to the British. Louisbourg was the greatest fortress in America at its time. It was in the extreme east of Canada, on the island of Cape Breton, near the best fishing-grounds, and on the flank of the ship channel into the St Lawrence Obverse is a Bust of Admiral Boscawen.
