Owner Comments:

The Marian apparitions experienced by the girl Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 made the French town Lourdes the most famous pilgrimage site in the world. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception was built between 1866 & 1871 above the Grotto of Massabielle where the Virgin Mary had appeared to the miller’s daughter.
The colored, hand-cut glass inlay shows a detailed miniature replica of the apparition window.
This 9th coin in the series was issued in 2013, plan max mintage: 2000 pcs
