GENERAL JOHN A. LOGAN of Illinois became the Head of THE GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC, the CIVIL WAR UNION VETERANS ASSOCIATION. He was ao=uthor of a book (that I bought in New York) on "THE HISTORY OF THE GREAT REBELLION". His equestrian statue is on SOUTH MICHIGAN AVENUE in Chicago, south of the Hilton and Blackstone Hotels.
