A proposed double taler design for the Prince Regent Luitpold--who reigned as de facto ruler of Bavaria from 1886 to 1912 beginning with the mental incapacity of his nephew Ludwig II (known to history as "Mad King Ludwig"), this medallic issue glimmers with mint luster and profuse die polish lines.
