Excellent Madagascar (Malagasy Republic) essai specimen 2 francs with very strong strike, super luster, and no toning. Fields and devices are semi-prooflike with center devices exhibiting strong cameo frost. Very light contact marks and scratches are present on both sides commensurate with grade. Cost: $34.50 on 3/18/16 on eBay from Alex Filer (totalman).
Composition: Stainless steel. Weight: 3.4 grams. Diameter: 19 mm. Thickness: 1.88 mm. Edge: Smooth.
Orientation: Coin alignment. Series Identifier: KM# E7 (variant of KM#9). Mint: Paris. Mintage: 1,700.
Obverse: Poinsettia, date below. Reverse: Value within horns of ox head above sprigs.
