Owner Comments:

At the time of purchase, top pop. From the sale's catalogue: "MEXICO. Empire of Iturbide. Silver Proclamation Medal, 1823. NGC MS-62. 40 mm. Grove-17a. Mexico City. Uniformed bust (sic) right; Reverse: Legend in six lines. Nearly all white with highly reflective fields. Sharp never-dropped rims. Nicely struck and lustrous. Quite attractive."

This medal was the praclamation of the Protomedicatus to the Emperor. Very rare.
