Medal, 1921, Bz, THE PARIS DICTAT, KARL GOETZ German Medal, Kienast-279, NGC MS63BN, Cert# 2788774-003. This satirical bronze medal refers to war reparations that Germany was forced to pay in 42 yearly installments after World War I, One Billion Dollars per Year. The obverse shows the figure of Germany (the German Man) on the cross, with the inscription: “Enslaved with hate and vindictiveness, from blindness, denuded of all human rights?”
The inscription above the cross: “42 Jahre “refers to the 42 annual payments of roughly one billion dollars.
The reverse shows a dagger and the inscription: “NO! - The god that made iron grow did not want serfs!”
