Medal, 1892-3, Brass, UNIFACE COLUMBUS DIE TRIAL, Eglit-231, NGC MS62, Cert# 1963124-002. Holder indicates Octagonal (actually medal is Hexagon - 6 sided) Columbus Bust Medal, Reverse center, stamped 1. Large 57mm. Very scarce, perhaps 2 or 3 known. Obv. Wreath around Bust of Columbus, Legend outside Circle, The Discovery of America 1492, and at bottom, World's Columbian Exposition 1892-2. Ex Goldberg #75, Lot 1938, Ex Hoffman Collection of World's Columbian Exposition Medals. A Very Special Medal.
