Medal, 1892, Aluminum, COLUMBIAN 13 STAR MEDAL, United States, Chicago, Rare & Usual, Eglit-322. NGC MS62, Cert# 3186024-012. Size: 36.5mm. One of the more unusual Exposition medal designs, this piece was sold as a good luck or success medal in the World's Columbian Exposition Illustrated Journal. Obv. Small Bust of Columbus with Beard, left, inside Wreath and multiple circles, 13 Stars around, C H I C A G O around at borders each letter in semicircle connecting to edge, which is 7 sided, the first 7 sided medal or token ever encountered by this writer. Rv. Small Central Glove with 1492 across it, circles around, October 13, 1492, Stars, and A M E R I C A around at borders each letter in semicircle connecting to edge duplicating obverse.
