Medal, 1961 (Undated), Cu, Bashlow Mule, SOMMER ISLANDS/HUDSON-FULTON DOLLAR, HK-369 Reverse Restrike, So Called Dollar, HK-369 reverse Mule, NGC MS66, Cert# 2385302-001. Obv. Sommer Islands (Bermuda) inside circle border of dots, Feral lPig inside inner circle with XII above Boar; Rv. Saling Ship, above Nieuw, Amsterdam below ship, MCMIX/H/1 Daalder, beaded border. Flaming red surfaces, exceptional quality, always popular mule issue. Produced by the infamous Robert Bashlow and minted by the August Frank Co. of Philadelphia. The Hudson Ship die (reverse) was designed by Frank C. Higgins and sculpted by E. Roine for Thomas Elder's 1909 Hudson-Fulton Exposition so-called dollar, HK-369. The Sommer Islands shilling design was prepared for famed numismatist & ethnographer Montroville Dickeson in the 1850s.
