Medal, 1893, Aluminum, THE SANTA MARIA, COLUMBUS, Columbian Expo, United States, Chicago, Eglit-63 AL, HK-167 Reverse. NGC MS61, Cert# 3241160-003. Set of Two 1893 Santa Maria Medals. Eglit-63 & 63B. This set consists of two metal content varieties of the 31mm Santa Maria medal. Eglit-63, aluminum, 31mm, is NGC graded MS61. Eglit-63B, gilt bronze, 31mm, is NGC graded MS60. These are nice examples of this popular and rare variety. Obv. Bust of Columbus, Legend around, Rv. The Santa Maria ship, Columbus in sight of the new world.
