In 1998 we lost Frank Sinatra (entertainer), Gene Autry (TV star/musician), Sonny Bono (entertainer/politician), and Florence Griffith Joyner (Olympic Athlete).The New York Yankees swept the World Series from the San Diego Padres. The Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl defeating the Green Bay Packers. The Detroit Red Wings swept the Stanley Cup from the Washington Capitols. The Chicago Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz 4 games to 2 for the NBA Championship. Kentucky defeated Utah to win the NCAA basketball Championship.
